family counselling - Care to Counsel The Hague

Family counselling

We are all part of a family. Some of us come from loving and caring families and some of us are less fortunate. Where you are from defines who you are as a person and how you connect with others. During family counselling, we can come across the following family related issues:

  • Divorce, separation and stepfamilies
  • Sibling relationships
  • Conflict between family members
  • Parenting children with special needs

What to expect from family counselling?

Every family member will be given the opportunity to contribute and to discuss. I will provide an open and non judgmental environment without being biased. All parties will be able to share and discuss their views. I will try to engage each individual member of the family. This will give insight into the family situation and enables the family to reconnect and re-balance their relationship.

How many sessions are needed?

We will discuss what brought you to counselling and what your expectations are in the first session. Then, together, we will create an action plan of the issues which we will work on. This plan can be adjusted over time depending on the issues discussed and their complexity. The amount of sessions depend on the problems being addressed, the needs of the family members and the frequency of the sessions.
